A debate we have organised with the Tackling Double Disadvantage partnership about Black, Asian, minoritised and migrant victims of violence against women and girls (VAWG) who are accused of offending is taking place on 5 July 2023.
The debate will focus on the gaps in law and practice that can lead to Black, Asian, minoritised and migrant women who are victims of domestic abuse and other forms of VAWG being accused or convicted of offences, sometimes leading to imprisonment.
We would like to ensure as many MPs attend as possible and are asking people to encourage their local MP to take part in the debate. We have created a template that can be used.
Visit They Work For You to find MP contact details.
For anyone interested in attending the debate, it is being held at Westminster Hall on Wednesday 5 July from 9:30am until 11:00am.
