CWJ Mentoring Scheme for Aspiring Lawyers from Black, Asian and Minoritised Backgrounds

This scheme aims to support those women who are currently underrepresented in the legal profession to pursue a career in law.

The scheme is open to all Black, Asian and minoritised women who are applying for training contracts and/or pupillage. Applicants will be offered a mentor on a first-come, first-served basis. As part of the scheme, mentees will be offered informal one-to-one meetings with their mentor to discuss applications, interviews, tips on writing CVs and other useful information.

08.05.2024 - Due to a large number of applications this week, we are not currently able to accept any more mentees. We will reopen if more mentors become available.

Do you want to become a mentor?

We are always looking for new mentors to join the mentoring scheme.

Our mentoring scheme is informal and very flexible. The mentoring that you would offer could be for just an hour or so every two weeks or quite possibly even less, and we believe that mentoring is equally rewarding to the mentor and to the mentee.

We ask that mentors who volunteer for the scheme are able to provide guidance for up to one year to mentees in order to help them through the training contract/pupillage process.
