Ethnicity Pay Gap

The ethnicity pay gap shows the disparity in the average wage between Black, Asian and minoritised staff and staff members from a non-minoritised white ethnic background. The pay gap is expressed as a percentage.

As CWJ is a small organisation we use mean (or average) figures which are calculated by dividing the team’s total salary by the number of employees.

‘Employees’ includes anyone on the CWJ payroll including fixed-term contracts but does not include individuals employed on a consultancy basis.

The pay gap for staff employed at any point during January – December 2023 (a total of 16 employees) was -3%. This signifies that Black and Asian employees working within CWJ in 2023 were on average paid 3% more than White employees.

Recruitment

For roles advertised Jan 2021- Dec 2023 (3 years), 47 applicants disclosed their ethnicity. Please note applications for the Internship for Black and Minoritsied women are not included here.
